MEDICARE PART D: Revised Notice of Creditable Coverage
Over the past few months, you have received information from RSI Gallagher, as well as other sources, about Medicare’s prescription drug plan, called Part D. While the January 1, 2006 effective date of this plan is still a couple of months away, employers have a deadline of November 15, 2005 to send out their Notice of Creditable (or Non-creditable) coverage to all Medicare-eligible employees and dependents.
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) developed a model notice, but employers do have some flexibility to alter both the content and the wording. RSI Gallagher took the liberty of developing a more simplified notice that still includes the required elements, so we hope your employees will find it easier to understand.
We sent this notice to you a couple of weeks ago via email so that you would have ample time to organize the mailing. In the meantime, we have had the RSI Gallager version translated into Spanish for your employees who may better understand the communication in this language.
You can click on the links below for both the English and Spanish versions of the Notice of Creditable Coverage revised by RSI.

We will continue to communicate any news related to Medicare Part D and your responsibilities as an employer. In the meantime, please give your Benefit Service Specialist a call if you have any questions.
