Oxford and UnitedHealthcare Merger

At the beginning of this week, Oxford Health Plans and UnitedHealthcare announced plans to merge. The completion of the merger is expected sometime during the fourth quarter of 2004. At that point in time, Oxford will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of UnitedHealthcare. Both companies view this venture as an opportunity to expand their product spectrum, network coverage, and position in the overall health insurance market.

So, what does this merger mean to you? For the time being,  it is business as usual. Both companies will continue to operate under their respective names. There will be no changes in products, pricing, service, or any processes currently in place.

At some point in the future, we expect these companies to combine their strengths, resulting in some changes. We will be sure to inform you of anything that may affect you or your employees. In the meantime, we would be glad to answer any questions you have about
the merger.
